From the traditions of master tailors to the freshest equestrian fashions.
Stable Cloth was born out of a twenty-year passion for riding and an entrepreneurial spirit. Erin Burpee Hornung, President and founder, was inspired by the beautifully tailored clothing worn on Wall Street. Launched in 2005, as Saltare Equestrian Apparel, Stable Cloth continues to deliver the finest in hand-tailored equestrian apparel.
Erin was frustrated by the ‘uniform’ look of equestrian wear. “At the major A Circuit events, all of the riders looked the same. Then I’d go to the tack store, looking for something exciting for the new season, but found only cookie cutter shirts and jackets. ' She launched Saltare Equestrian Apparel, now Stable Cloth, at the World Cup Show Jumping Finals in 2005, in an effort to bring fresh ideas and couture quality to the equestrian world.
Stable Cloth benefits from Erin’s understanding of needs and desires of equestrian competitors, as well her business background. Her experience in the ring helped her thrive in competitive positions as a stock trader at Ferguson, Wellman Capital Management in Portland, OR and a business manager at Intuit, Inc. in Mountain View, CA.
While at Intuit, Erin excelled in business development, winning several multi-million dollar deals and managing one of the largest business services integrated into QuickBooks Point of Sale software. Both roles required wearing many hats and juggling myriad tasks, while still keeping customers and partners happy. She brings all of these skills to our growing international company.
Stable Cloth’s fashion influence is continually expanding. While continuing A Circuit competition and her commitment to the sport, Erin is available to discuss individual needs with her clientele, bringing Stable Cloth apparel directly to equestrian events and stables nationwide.
